Putney Park is a very popular park located next to the Parramatta River, on Kissing Point Bay, at Putney.

It is a great place for family picnics with beautiful waterviews in the background. You can sit and watch the boats rock in the bay while your snags sizzle away on the electric barbeques. There are large grassed areas for running and kicking a ball plus you can keep the kids entertained with the two fun playgrounds.

On the higher ground is the entrance structure for the really long slippery dip that snakes its way down to the lower playground area. It is best for older kids or littlies can ride with a parent. Also good for the adventurous older kids is a really tall spider climbing net that stretches up to a high point.

For the warmer days there is a fun splash paddle pool to cool everyone off. The water play area has two nicely landscaped shallow paddling pools with a little river running between them. There is a bubble beach section and plenty of room for your kids to splash about. Nearby are some huge coloured squares, pyramids and balls which kids seem to find fascinating.

Adults are also taken care of with a lookout tower and viewing platform, cycleways and walking paths.

If you are looking for a venue for a birthday party or large gathering, the picnic shelter here could be just what you have been looking for. There are toilet facilities nearby too, including disabled accessable.
and Sportsgrounds/Book a Park or Sportsground Bookings for large events can be made with Ryde council.

There is plenty of parking available adjacent to the park.

Mortlake ferry is a short distance away for something a bit different on your way to the park or on the way home. Commonly known to locals as the Putney punt the Mortlake ferry began operating in 1925 and is the only remaining punt in the Sydney metropolitan area. It crosses the Parramatta River from Hilly Street, Mortlake to Pellisier road, Putney. The trip takes approximately 5 minutes and it runs every half hour on the weekends and public holidays and continuously throughout the day on weekdays. There is no charge for the ferry.

Putney is in the Ryde council distrct of Sydney and is approximately 16 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD.
