Now is the season for sweet mandarins. Saturday 2nd of June is the first day of the mandarin picking season at Watkins Orchard.

Watkins Orchard is family owned and is in Wisemans Ferry. If you plan to pick some mandarins this season, I recommend Watkins Orchard - let me tell you why;

It is nice and big and it is next to the Wisemans Ferry River, so you have great views. I guess because the orchard is located near both the mountain and river, the mandarins are sweeter. My children and I greatly enjoyed the fruit.

There are tables and chairs for those wishing to have a picnic - I think they have a better setting then Ford's Farm. Of course there is also a toilet.

Watkins Orchard is located at 1125 Singleton Road, Wisemans Ferry, NSW 2775 and the phone number is 45663107.

They will start the mandarin picking season on June 2nd - it will run until August or until it's gone. They will open on weekends between 10:00am - 4:00pm. If you are in large group - it is recommended that you make a booking.

There is free fruit tasting and picked fruit is $10 for a big basket. So bring your lunch and a little ladder or chair to help you safely reach and pick the biggest juiciest mandarins.
