Fresh figs are the best
The time has come once again, and I just can't wait. Last year was our very first time picking figs at the Glen Ewin Estate. Figs? Yes, figs - pick your own figs. We had an absolute ball and will definitely be back again this year.

Glen Ewin Estate's 2018 fig season begins on Tuesday the 13th of February. They have five main varieties for you to pick - Archipal, Black Genoa, Brown Turkey, Deanna and Spanish Desert. When you arrive, head to the fig bar to get your wristband and box. It is $4 per person. Then go ahead and pick as many figs as you wish for just $10 per kilogram.

The fig season is fairly short, only about six weeks or so (usually until March). Opening hours are between 9am and 3pm in general. However, do check their website before heading out to ensure that the orchard is ripe for picking.
