Watch out Sydney you are about to be piccolo'd! See, there are these two brothers (Charlie & Roy) who have a serious love of coffee and a serious love of fun. Together they have started up a string of cafes called Piccolo Me and they are on a mission to introduce all of Sydney (and the rest of Australia) to the Piccolo Me experience.

The coffee at Piccolo Me is seriously good. No matter what your preference is, your Cup of Joe will be brewed perfectly by the well trained and super friendly staff. The beans used at Piccolo Me are fair trade and sourced from roasters locally. From the humble flat white to a piccolo latte, your caffeine fix is in good hands. They even brew and bottle their own range of iced coffees in store, with the nutella brew being the most popular. For the Chai lovers amongst you, Piccolo Me creates a wonderful Chai Tea made from 100% black Ceylon tea, Aussie bush honey, cinnamon, cardamom, star anise, peppercorns, fresh ginger, cloves, salt and most importantly love!

It's not only their caffeine that Piccolo Me are gaining notoriety for - it's their bombs. The bomb is quite a fancy hot chocolate. Different bombs come and go on the menu. The original is the nutella bomb, then there is a nerdtella bomb (nutella with nerd lollies) and there has even been the Kramer bomb (nutella with a junior mint). When you order your bomb of choice, you receive a cup of hot frothy milk, a chunk of nutella on a stick and a little pot of chocolate sprinkles. You pick up the stick of nutella and bomb it into your hot milk and swirl it until it's all melted. Then withdraw the stick and lick. Lick it real good, until every last drop of the melted nutella has gone. Next you sprinkle the chocolate flakes over the top, and boom! You have your bomb.

One of the Piccolo Me brothers (Roy), has a bit of a Willy the Wonka complex. He is the creative genius behind the bombs and other weird and wonderful treats that are available in the Piccolo Me stores. Take for example the Crotop. This little beauty is like a mini croissant ball with some sort of sweet adornment on top, like chocolate freckles or M&Ms. It will come on top of your coffee and then you can go the dunk or just eat it by itself.

Another intriguing concoction that has been concocted by Roy Wonka is the Esprookie - an espresso shot in a cookie (injected with a syringe) or for the little piccolos in your life, the Babookie - a babycino in a cookie! The cookies are shaped like little cups and coated with nutella, so that the liquid doesn't seep through. I'm pretty sure Roy doesn't sleep at night, as most days he shows off his new creation on social media that he dreamt up the night before and then it hits the stores for sale.

Besides all of these whacky food inventions, there are also some "normal" food items available to eat at Piccolo Me. There are always freshly baked muffins, scrolls, donuts and other calorific delights available on the front counter to get your sugar levels up with your coffee break. And at breakfast and lunch you can select something delicious to feast on from the food menu.

At breakfast time you can have an "Eggcellent" start to your day with eggs on toast or "energise" yourself with an acai bowl. If you need something a bit more substantial to get yourself through the working day, try out the "Eggle Tower" - scrambled eggs, choirzo, ham, tomato, spinach & avocado on sourdough toast. Breakfast is served from 7.30am - 11.30am and after that the lunch time menu kicks in.

At lunch time you can munch on yummy salads, burgers and hot rolls. The Boris Salad is so good and full of slow cooked lamb shoulder, olives, fetta, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, roasted capsicum, salad greens and a lemon dressing. Oregano is then sprinkled on top to enhance the overall flavour of the salad. Both the pulled pork and pulled lamb rolls are filled with succulent meat and come with a side of crunchy seasoned fries. For the colder months the Cheesy French is being served. This bad boy is basically a cheese burger croissant and it comes with a side of corn chips and sauce. If you still have room in your belly after lunch, give one of Piccolo Me's Nutellagatos a go (nutella & vanilla ice cream, double ristretto, chocolate flakes, & crushed hazelnuts) - this affogato with a twist will have you buzzing in the office all afternoon long!

So Sydney, look out for the bright yellow signage and the cheeky advertising of a Piccolo Me store that may be near where you live, work or go to school. They are starting to pop up everywhere, from the CBD to Penrith. For the exact locations click here as you need to get yourself piccolo'd real soon!
