5% discount when paying cash for hot and spicy Thai
We are amazed at the number of great Thai restaurants found in the suburbs surrounding Brisbane. We discovered Phuket Kitchen tucked away in the northern suburb of Albany Creek. Located along Old Northern Road near the local shopping centre, Phuket Kitchen could easily be missed unless you are a local.
The small restaurant was simply decorated with your typical Thai decor and the staff was quite friendly and very obliging. We dined here early (5pm) on a Wednesday night and even though we were the first dine-in customers, there was quite a steady flow of customers picking up take away orders.

The restaurant is BYO and the menu had all of the classic Thai dishes that you would expect at a good Thai Restaurant. We started with Salt and Pepper fried Calamari Tentacles ($7.90) which was very tasty, tender and melted in your mouth.
We ordered Green Duck Curry ($17.90) and Pad Prik Khing - stir fried seafood dish with loads of chilli curry and vegetables. ($17.90). Both dishes were served hot to our taste and we were impressed with the taste and really enjoyed the meal.

We often find ourselves in random suburbs due to our son's football games so we are happy when we 'discover' local little restaurants that deliver up tasty food. We will add Phuket Kitchen to our list of restaurants when we find ourselves in Albany Creek. An interesting little fact about this restaurant is that they offer a 5% discount when you pay cash - good to know for next time.
