Gone With The Wind
Drama/Romance
Margaret Mitchell's classic tale of love and war, is brought to life in this carefully restored print, emphasising the original, brilliant three strip Technicolor and stereo sound.
This Epic American Civil War drama centres on the life of a strong-willed southern belle Scarlett O'Hara (
Vivien Leigh). Beginning with her idyllic life on a sprawling plantation, the film follows her survival through the tragic history of the South during the Civil War and Reconstruction, and her tangled love affairs with Ashley Wilkes (
Leslie Howard) and Rhett Butler (
Clark Gable).
Get a group together and have some fun looking for a character you identify with, and reveal something about yourself. With 151 cast members, there is enough for everyone, three times over. Watch out for the performance of
Olivia de Havilland as Melanie Hamilton and
Hattie McDaniel as Mammy.

Gone With The Wind is the sort of classic movie experience that this intimate cinema takes advantage of. You may even feel the heat as Atlanta burns.
MGM, with no CGI in those days, spectacularly captured the burning of Atlanta on seven Technicolor cameras. The flames engulfed 40 acres as remnants of some old movie sets burnt down. Flames reaching over 500 feet high, required more than 15,000 gallons of water to douse the inferno.
Dress up and win a prize
As usual, door prizes, and the ever-popular raffles, ensure a PHSG event is always an epic experience.
There are prizes for the best dressed, so have some extra fun and come in your finest civil war outfits. I wonder how many men can turn up sporting a moustache to rival Clark Gable (real of fake).
The
doors and
bar are open at 3:00pm, and the
movie starts at 3:45pm. As this is a long movie, you will experience an
intermission as in the original showing.
Some great movies coming up . . .
Activities and events are added regularly , so stay connected and do not miss the fun. How about
joining their mailing list and receiving the news first hand.
By seeing the needs of the homeless and those at risk of being homeless, the Perth Homeless Support Group Inc (PHSG) adopts a 'hands-on' approach acting in a way that makes a difference to their situation.

Vans needed for the homeless
PHSG feed, clothe and support over 200 homeless people each week. This is a massive effort by their volunteers, but with homeless numbers growing each week, and the volume of equipment and supplies being transported means that two vans are needed.
You can make a difference by clicking here and help to make this happen .
As a registered charity all donations to PHSG over $2.00 are tax deductible.
Wait, book now before the seats are gone
Book now and ensure your seat for this for this genuine blockbuster for only
$25.00 per person. Remember, drinks and enticing treats are available from the bar, before the movie and at intermission.
