Hybrid and Digital SLR cameras are becoming more and more accessible these days, as they are available at a range of price points - but as these devices often have numerous functions, lenses and accessories, it can be a bit overwhelming for those new to the technology.
If you perhaps fall into this category, or simply want to make the most of your camera - why not participate in a professional photography educational tour.
Hosted by a friendly professional you will be taken over 3 hours to a range of different sites in a small group and learn the tricks of the trade, all whist creating some beautiful landscapes of your very own.
This walking photography class for beginners will cover both composition and more technical aspects:
Composition
Viewpoint, angle, and perspective
Isolating the subject and removing clutter
Using movement creatively
Technical
Panning and sports photography
Your host is Steph Doran. Steph is a young Tasmanian born photographer currently residing in Melbourne. Coming from an artistic background she approaches her photography with a creative eye aiming to show the world from a unique perspective.
After completing her Advanced Diploma of Photography at Photography Studies College, Steph was quickly picked up by Blue Tree Studios in Port Melbourne. She has shot for a range of clients, including fashion designers, restaurants, and families. However her true passion lies in conceptual photography where her love of working with narrative comes to life.
Steph's personal work is creative and artistic, and often riddled with metaphor. With a background in drawing and painting, she is also able to incorporate mixed media into her work, creating quirky, eyecatching pieces that reach beyond the photographic realm.
The workshop starts outside the visitor's centre, Federation Square, at 8.30am (nice light).
