Where's Beachmere you may ask? It is a common question when this gem of a town is mentioned. It is a magic little town just north of the Caboolture River, on the mainland, some 50 kms north of Brisbane. From the beach you can see Bribie Island, Moreton Island and Redcliffe/Scarborough. It's early fame was as a fishing village – Deception Bay, and the River close by it is a great spot for all fishing, with easy access to the Bay if you are a boatie and wish to explore further out in Moreton Bay, or head north or south to larger fishing spots.

The town itself boasts adequate shopping for the locals, with an IGA, Post Office, a Tavern , a great dress and gift shop (Wishing Wells), and lots more, including some places to eat.

If you wish to stay there is a wonderful caravan park, and the Beachmere Palms Motel.

However, it is the photography opportunities that put smiles on those folk who love their cameras, that brings folk to Beachmere, as well as the fishing, peace and tranquillity.

There are so many wonderful spots to take photos.
1. The beachfront. It is amazing at low tide with many pools, sand banks, sand patterns, colours, views across to the islands, and birdlife for a start. Or you can endeavour to track and film the thousands of soldier crabs that live in the sand.
2. At dawn you can sit at the beachfront – at either end of Biggs Avenue and watch the sun rise with amazing colours and patterns behind the clouds.
3. At dusk the place to be is somewhere along the River – watching the sun set over "them, thar hills to the west" with fabulous hues in a quickly changing skyline.
4. There are three lakes – each with a unique landscape that would send a photographer into raptures, especially one which has old jetties and families of black swans at certain times of the year.
5. The mangroves growing out of the water.
6. Walk along the beachfront at low tide to see the mangroves, dead tree trunks and strange items washed up by the sea.
7. Walk in the mangrove swamps (or beside them) to get great shots of the water, reflections and the bird life.
8. The boating and river live at the end of St Smith Road.
9. The reflections of the trees in the river when all is still and quiet.
10. The boats on the river in the vicinity of Riversleigh Drive.
11. The many parks in the area.
12. Horses, cattle, goats and more.
13. Sand and swamps at the end of Bayside Drive.
14. The abundant birdlife in the area.
15. And more……..

Bring your camera, your tripod and perhaps a picnic lunch – you can BBQ at several of the parks, and have a great day in this magic little spot.
