Phong Dinh - dinner is served
Over the hill and phố, phố away.
We were going to go for our favourite phố at Hung Vuong as
previously reviewed and we couldn't get in; I knew I should have kept my mouth shut about that place.

Happy campers.

it is a phố, phố better thing that I have done.
Well, we had to amble back to the car, and we went past Phong Dinh, as this sounded like the dinner gong, we thought it's time for tea. We gave it a go and weren't disappointed.
So here's another tasty phố deep in the heart of Footscray.
My partner ordered the phố, the same one we normally have, which I had a taste of, and it was a beautiful flavour, at least as good as my
previous top 3.
Now, I had been hankering for a bit of dim sum (yum cha). I'd seen a new restaurant on the other side of the road further down a few days earlier, but Saturday night and it was closed? So guess what, I thought I'd try something different here at Phong Dinh.

Mi siu cao (egg noodles with big prawn dumplings).
I scanned the menu and saw mi siu cao (egg noodles with big prawn dumplings). Just what the Vietnamese food aficionado was after, so I took the punt on that. And it was great, I really enjoyed it, the dumplings were a standout. The soup that they came in was a different flavour from the usual phố but still delicious. The egg noodles were a nice change from the rice ones too. No borsch and tears for this guy.
All in all, a tasty meal all round. The place was nice and clean, and the meals were scorching hot. To top the lot, the bill was under $20 for the two of us, so
cheap eats here we come. We were on to a good thing and will go back soon.
