Storytellers, writers, readers, authors and would-be authors, or just anyone who likes a good yarn, this one’s for you. The Phillip Island Festival of Stories is not just a great writers’ festival, but it’s being held in one of Victoria’s best tourist spots. Surely you won’t just stay for a day. Although it is close to Melbourne and an easy day trip, it would be a shame not to at least make a weekend of it.
The festival is billed as a celebration of storytelling in all its forms. The organisers say,
“Inspiring, uplifting, entertaining, challenging and thought-provoking, no topic is off limits as Phillip Island Festival of Stories empowers a diverse group of people to tell their tales in their favourite form.” One glance at the program and you’ll see just what they mean.
