Pezzimenti Place Reserve

This small reserve is at the end of Pezzimenti Place, a no through road, off Brushy Park Road, Wonga Park.
Its main feature is a small lake surrounded by reeds. My first visit revealed a solitary duck swimming around.
My second visit was almost an avian extravaganza. The duck was still there accompanied by three cormorants, two water hens and a solitary egret.
Initially, the cormorants were at water's edge looking in unison across the lake and upon my slow approach, they took to wing to the other side of the lake where they landed next to a beautiful white egret.
They posed for a few photos before taking wing again heading skyways and circled, gaining height before departing the area.
Along one side of the reserve is the Brushy Creek, which bubbles along on its way to join the Yarra River.
A small playground is provided, whose main customers would be the local children, although visitors would be welcome.
There are no facilities at this small reserve, only the chance to see some waterbirds in their element.
