Event:
You will find your ideal beloved pet at this adoption day
Once again, PETstock will be running the National Pet Adoption Day 2019 scheme. This is such an important event as they team up with the non-profit organisation PetRescue and help find forever homes for pets all over Australia.

Perhaps the worst stories come from racers of greyhounds who often just euthanase their dogs when they have finished with them or they do not win races for their owners. There are thousands of this breed available for adoption and although a large dog, they generally have delightful, laid back personalities and are very easy to look after once they are past the silly puppy stage which most of these rescue ones are.

You can read about these rabbits at this link.

The event will be held on Saturday 9th February 2019, from 10.00 am until 2.00 pm.

This will be the fifth time that this event has been held and it will run in more than 135 PETstock stores throughout Australia! Last year's event saw a massive 520 pets find their forever homes.

However, there is still a lot more work to be done in this area as it is estimated that there are around 200,000 unclaimed pets throughout shelters and shire council pounds around Australia. These are all either unwanted or unclaimed pets and through no fault of their own, often end up on death row.

In 2019, PETstock hopes to place more pets than they did in 2018 and for this, they need your help! They want to find even more healthy, happy animals their forever loving home! The National Pet Adoption Day is a great opportunity to remind those people who are looking to add a wonderful new member to their family, that they should adopt and not buy a pet this year. This, of course, will help an animal in need and perhaps save a pet from euthanasia.

Pets and dogs, in particular, will give you unconditional love and if you have never experienced this, now is a great time and opportunity to find out what owning a dog is all about! They are always there to greet you when you get home, love your company and often just want to be close to you, their beloved friend and companion!

I myself have a blind dog who physically needs my help and walks right by me so he does not bump into things. I find it so rewarding being able to help an ageing animal who has problems. I have taught him that when I say "up, up, up" he is able to jump on whatever it is he is standing at e.g. the couch, and "bump" means you are about to bump into a wall!

All pets up for adoption will have up-to-date vaccines, be desexed and have had a full health check-up with a licensed vet. On the day, you will be able to speak to pet adoption experts from the local pounds as they will be in the stores to answer any questions and help with the adoption process.

There will be pets of all ages, sizes, and breeds and they will all be there waiting for you to give them that loving home and some of your love.

So, whether you are looking for a four-legged little fur-ball type animal or perhaps even something with scales, you are highly likely to find what you are looking for at this event.

As this will be on at most PETstock stores around Australia, you can find your nearest one by going to this website, or go to PetResue here.

PETstock is the place to go for all your animal needs and they have around 133 stores nationwide. They have the best quality pet care products, and advice for you.

See the stories and find out more at the PETstock webpage.
