Disney's 2023 live-action adaptation, Peter Pan & Wendy, directed by David Lowery, revisits J.M. Barrie's timeless tale with a contemporary lens. The film endeavours to balance nostalgia with modern sensibilities, offering a reimagined narrative that centres on Wendy Darling's journey.

Set in Edwardian London, the story begins with Wendy Darling (Ever Anderson) facing the prospect of leaving for boarding school. Discontented with the idea of growing up, Wendy's wish to remain a child summons Peter Pan (Alexander Molony), who invites her and her brothers, John (Joshua Pickering) and Michael (Jacobi Jupe), to Neverland - a realm where youth is eternal.

In Neverland, they encounter the Lost Boys (now an inclusive group of boys and girls), the fairy Tinker Bell (Yara Shahidi), the indigenous warrior Tiger Lily (Alyssa Wapanatâhk), and the villainous Captain Hook (Jude Law). The narrative unfolds as Wendy grapples with the allure of eternal childhood and the responsibilities of maturity, culminating in a confrontation with Hook that challenges her perceptions and choices.
