As a person that loves creative arts, I thought I would take a look at the new home of the sand sculpting exhibition at the Boneo Maze, Mornington Peninsula last weekend.
This year, Sand Sculpting Australia presents the Peter Pan exhibition, which takes you on a journey through Neverland. After looking at these beautiful, well-detailed sculptures, you have the chance to learn how to build your own. Give it a go, you might be surprised what you can carve out of a bit of sand. This event is open now until 26th May 2019.
Boneo Maze is set on 27acres, so if you are up for more adventures, you can also get lost in one of two mazes, play on the 18 hole mini golf course, climb the rock climbing wall or try some tricks on the bungee trampolines.
For the less adventurous, you can take a stroll on the 1.5km boardwalk through nature, spotting frogs and bird life. At the end of the boardwalk, you will find a giant games garden. Here you can ride on the mini train or vintage carousel, play chess, snakes and ladders, connect four or just enjoy a picnic in the park. When we attended, not every ride was open so check the activity timetable on the website to see what's on each day.
At the Boneo Maze, they have a café that sells coffee and a small variety of food. I would suggest taking a picnic if you want to make a day of it, as there is plenty of lush, green lawn to sit on. The park is also accessible for guests of all ages and abilities, so no one can miss out on visiting.
For upcoming events, check their website as they hold many different events throughout the year.
