If you're feeling peckish as you strut down the prolific Asian aisle of Chinatown, I must strongly suggest you don't walk straight past Petaling Street . It is definitely easy to miss as it doesn't show off its glamour with fancy signs or door bling. However, it will bring you a very satisfying experience that will bring you back.

Petaling Street starts you off with a walk up into a room that will delight your sense as delight is created with its atmosphere. Interiors made to look like you are in a Malaysian street with hawker style food stalls. Bamboo structures and a hut for a bar, it is a beautiful reinterpretation of the authentic street scene recreated indoors.

But what about the food itself? Of course, a place that looks like it had spent too much money on its interiors can't possibly have good chow? Wrong. Malaysian hawker style food made fast and fresh. Delicious clams that were not too salty, not too 'beachy'. But, were perfectly marinated in a sweet-savoury sauce. As a former vegetarian and still an absolute tofu fan, the tofu with oyster and shitake mushroom dish really made my mouth drool. They also make excellent beef Rendang curry with a serving portion that will feed a family. It was amazing how much bang you would get for your buck at Petaling Street . Quality food, friendly service where waiters would constantly clear your empty plates so that you'd have table room and excellent prices.

For a Malaysian must, pick some petals at Petaling Street . What ever petal you pick, you'll be completely satisfied.
