Pulau Ubin holds so many treasures with its rich cultural and natural heritage. Pesta Ubin 2016 will be held from 14 May to 12 June 2016. This is the first time the festival, formerly known as Ubin Day, has been extended to a month long festival, packed with many activities focusing on nature, wildlife, culture, and its unique kampong lifestyle. This festival is aimed at appreciating this underrated little island.
Pulau Ubin Jetty
In conjunction with Pesta Ubin 2016, Treasure SG organizes two contests #TreasureUbin Treasure Hunt and #TheUbinWay Photo Contest. Treasure SG is a nationwide treasure hunt initiated by Joseph Sng initially to commemorate SG50. Its intention is to stimulate the participants' interests about Singapore's heritage and make new friends during the hunt.
Participants are required to submit photographs relevant to the themes, which will be announced in its Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Pesta Ubin Treasure SG – Treasure Ubin
Participants are required to find Treasure SG Coins and other treasures bearing Treasure SG Logos around Ubin Town. The rules are simple. They are required to follow both Treasure SG Facebook Page and its instagram account, @TreasureSG, as clues will be released here. Upon finding these treasures they are required to snap a selfie and upload it to their own social media accounts within an hour, then insert hastags #TreasureSG #TreasureUbin #PestaUbin. All participants are required to travel to and from Pulau Ubin at their own cost. Terms and conditions apply, please check the Facebook page for more information.
Pulau Ubin can be reached from Changi Point Ferry Terminal by a 10-minute boat ride. The ride costs $3 per person with maximum 12 passengers. Top up $2 if you bring your own bicycle. Bicycles can be rented from shops in Ubin Town. Food and drinks are also sold in the area.
