Usher in Autumn with the free Perth Autumn Festival
The weather has well and truly changed with a cooler front making its way into Perth, signalling the end of Summer and the dawn of Autumn. Perth's Eastern Region is celebrating Autumn with something to do every weekend from March to May 2016 so that you can experience the beauty of its rolling hills, refreshing river water and gorgeous vineyards.

1) Kalamunda Markets

On the 10th of April 2016 from 8am to 12pm, instead of driving your car to the markets, ride to the markets where a bicycle valet service is provided to ensure your bike is kept safe. The first 40 bike riders will be offered a free $10 market voucher to spend on that day. If you can't make it on the 10th, Kalamunda Farmers Markets will be held again on the 17th of April, 24th of April, 1st of May, 8th of May, 15th of May, 22nd of May and 29th of May with a special Kalamunda night market on the 15th of April.

2) Race Through History

On the 17th of April, from 11am to 1pm, join your own free Amazing Race adventure in Kalamunda's History Village. Challenge yourself with your knowledge of the local history in Kalamunda. Mainly aimed at adventurers aged between 12 and 25 (anyone outside this age bracket can participate but are not eligible for prizes), join interactive questions and activities with the promise of a free sausage sizzle, craft activities and live music after the event. 3) Shannons Classic Car Show

If you are a fan of classic cars, Shannons' Classic Car Show is the perfect place for you. Held on the 17th of April from 10am to 3.30pm at Mussel Pool at Whiteman Park (99 Lord Street, Whiteman), come and have a look at 1,200 classic cars from the early 1900s to the present day on display from Council of Motoring Clubs WA and associated clubs. Other than cars, there are plenty of food stalls and trade stands available as well.

4) Bickley Valley Harvest Festival

On the 30th of April and 1st of May, the Bickley Valley will come alive with the opportunity to dine from menus crafted by some of the region's finest chefs and sample wine from WA vineyards. A 35 minute drive east of Perth, have a look at the scarecrow competition whilst visiting various wineries and vineyards, each with their own activities. Free admission and parking available.

5) Maylands Street Festival

On the 1st of May 2016 from 12pm to 7pm at Eight Avenue and Whatley Crescent, enjoy great food and family friendly activities at the Maylands Street Festival. Listen to local musicians at the chill-out area from two busker stages and enjoy the two pop up bars while browsing through artisan stalls. There are thrilling demonstrations at the mobile Skate Park throughout the afternoon as well as a dedicated Children Zone with family friendly activities and rides.
