Family fun in Perth
It used to be that a day at the zoo was an ordeal that only became worthwhile with the family in tow. It's a long day, with sore feet and fighting children, who by the end of it all are suffering from either a sugar overload or a sugar crash. But it's ultimately worth it, because little George thinks the Baboons with their bright pink butts are hilarious and Sally thinks the Giraffes are to die for.
At least that's what I always thought. But there came a time when zoos stopped being just a museum. Now, zoos around the world play an important role in wildlife conservation. In education. In inspiration.
Perth Zoo is the perfect example. Beyond conservation and display, the zoo has actively worked to connect with visitors in a manner that excites and involves. Let's make this clear - it's a great zoo.
But how to avoid the terrors of the family zoo trip? Keep the kids from each other's throats and the adults from becoming a groaning mess of humanity? Perth Zoo has got you covered.
By becoming a Zoo Friend, you'll have unlimited membership to Perth Zoo for 12 months, every day of the year, as well as participating zoos around the country. Members receive store discounts as well as a subscription to the monthly magazine.

Without the pressure of trying to get to everything, you'll have a great time and no doubt be back within weeks to check out one of the world's leading Orangutan conservation and breeding programs. Or favourites like the Penguins, Lemurs and Meerkats. Lions, Tigers, Bears. Rhino's. Crocodiles. Everything you expect and need from a trip to the Zoo, but in bite sized chunks.
And the verdict? Problem solved. A family trip to the zoo is now more than just fun for the kids. With all the pain of the experience taken away, we've been back again and again.
