The
, as part of the Perth International Art Festival and the Perth Writers Festival, brings together writers and artists from around the world.
Australian and International children's book creators, come together at the , to celebrate the importance of storytelling. This event offers loads of fun and interesting activities, suitable for all ages. Join Maisy the Mouse for story-time, get crafty, watch an interactive performance, help the artist, discover some fantastic e-resources, and much, much more.
All children who attends Family Day will receive their very own Writers Festival passport. This passport is designed to activate your childs literacy skills, plus the passport unlocks all of the day's exciting activities. A passport can be picked up from the information tent.
Sean E Avery, Artist-in-Residence, will bring a fire-breathing beast to life. Be part of the process and help him to build the dragon by colouring and adding scales to the untamed creature.
An incredible mural of Harry Potter's Diagon Alley will be transformed before your very eyes. Help to colour in this massive art-work, two metres high and six metres wide, which will capture every detail of Harry Potter's magical world.
Check out the Book Cubby and make your own book to take home. You can even publish your story for others to read and enjoy.
If you love Andy Griffiths' treehouse books, visit the REmida tent and get crafty. Help the team from REmida to create their own interpretation of the evergrowing treehouse.
During your day at the festival make sure to visit the Chill-Out Zone. Take a break from the days activities, have a rest, play some games, or read a book in this comfy, relaxing family area.
