I have never been a big fan of basketball, but I am a huge fan of entertainment and that is exactly what you will get from watching the Wildcats at the Perth Arena.
West Australians are excited to have their team playing in the city again after years. And after attending one of their games I now know why: Pre-game entertainment, dancers, sport and the best announcer that I have ever seen and heard.
Pre-Game Entertainment At each game you will be entertained by performances from singers or events such as a game with the Wheelcats. Great for if you want to get in early to beat the crowds in.
One of the highlights of the night are the ten talented Muzz Buzz dancers who perform up eight routines during each Wildcats home game in the NBL season. Even though there main goal is to cheer the Wildcats to victory, they also assist in competitions by selecting contestants and distribute prizes to the audience. It is great to see the kids become excited when the dancers perform, as they too get up and dance along in their seats.
The Muzz Buzz Dancers give a fantastic performance.
iiNet Quick Shot At quarter time one lucky person from the audience gets the chance to win $5000, thanks to the NBL sponsor iiNet. All this person has to do is to get the ball through the hoop from half court. You get one chance, so get practising.
The Announcer What makes the night so amazing for me is the announcer Aaron Ford, who really pumps up the crowd. He gets the atmosphere pumping and the audience participating in the game. He is the voice that stops you from getting bored on the night. Oh, and he gives you information on what is going on.
Well if you are like me and do not know the rules of Basketball then do not fear, you will pick it up pretty quickly. Four ten-minute quarters with five players per team on the court as once, and something about dribbling a ball and getting it through a hoop... Okay, I'm not much of a Basketball girl but I did have a lot of fun.
The Basketball game is not the only entertainment of the night.
