Perth Symphonic Chorus: Handel’s Messiah
Fun Fact: George Frideric Handel's Messiah was originally an Easter Offering. It made its first debut in 1742 where women were asked to remove the 'hula hoops' from their dresses so that more people could fit in the hall. Since then, we have seen Handel's Messiah become centre stage for many Christmas events.
This year, the Perth Symphonic Chorus will be performing
Handel's Messiah at the Perth Concert Hall. It will be directed by Dr Margaret Pride OAM. Soloists include 'mezzo-soprano, Fiona Campbell, soprano Bonnie de la Hunty, tenor Richard Butler and bass James Clayton'.
The musical, which will be held on 21 December, will run for about 2 hours and 40 minutes. Due to the length of the performance, this event would not be ideal for children under 7.
Tickets range from $20 for students to $150.00 for adults. While there are some areas that have free parking, it would be wise to expect fee based parking. There is, of course, public transport options.
If you have never had the pleasure of listening to Handel's Messiah live, then this will be a perfect opportunity. VIP tickets have already, unfortunately, sold out.
