The IGA Perth Royal Show is on from September 23 to 30 and, while it's a lot of fun, it can cost a lot of money too. One of the biggest expenses is the tickets. So here are some ways you can get into the show for a discount or even for FREE (the best price ever!).
The online pre-sale runs from August 1 to 9am on September 1.
Adult tickets are $24, kids' tickets are $12 and concession is $13; or you can get a family pass for $60.
The online early-bird discount runs from 9am on September 1 to 5pm on September 22. Adult tickets are $26, kids' tickets are $13 and concession is $14.50; or you can get a family pass for $65.
The IGA pre-sale (at selected IGA stores) runs from August 15 to September 30. Adult tickets are $26, kids' tickets are $13 and concession is $14.50; or you can get a family pass for $65.
If you get your tickets online from 5pm on September 22 or at the gate adult tickets are $30, kids' tickets are $15 and concession is $16; or you can get a family pass for $75.
The other option is to get an after 5pm ticket at the gate. Adult tickets are $20, kids' tickets are $10 and concession is $12.
There are also some other deals for specific days:
Tuesday, September 26 is half price Follow the Yellow Brick Road day.
Thursday, September 28 is half price kids day.
Friday, September 29 is half price seniors day.
Remember there's a booking fee for buying online, but none at the gate. Kids aged four and under get in free and over 16s need an adult ticket. The Perth Royal Show also accepts Carer WA and Companion Cards. You'll get a free ticket when you're with someone who's purchased a ticket.
There are a few ways you can score free entry into the Perth Royal Show.
Thousands of volunteers are needed to help out at the Perth Royal Show. Some are there every day while others give just a few hours of their time.
Volunteer positions range from working on the information booths, to helping with animals and assisting in the educational exhibits. All the information you need to sign up, is here.
Imagine not only getting into the show for free, but being paid to be there. If you fancy selling showbags, visit here to fill in an application form.
If you're keen to sell tickets at the gate, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
You might be able to win your way in the show, if you're lucky. Keep and ear out for radio competitions and suss out the newspapers too. Make sure you 'like' the Perth Royal Show Facebook page as they have regular competitions for tickets. Kids Around Perth and Perth Kids are good pages to keep an eye on too.
Royal Show ticket prices are obscene. Every exhibitor pays to have a stall, and then every other person who goes through the gate gets stung too.
Add parking, or lack of to the equation. Might be my last.
