Life is about the journey - some roads are not always what they seem but you sure learn a great deal from them!

Wrestling is not for everyone. However, I have always been intrigued as to why this sport seems to attract so many people. So, when I was invited to view a New Horizons Professional Wrestling match, I grabbed hold of the opportunity mostly out of curiosity.
It was just moments before the wrestling began with an introduction to the stars for the evening performance. Of course, I was delighted to see all of them appear, however I soon learnt that some of them were not welcomed with open arms by the audience. There were the crowd's favourites, and anyone outside of this category was booed continuously.
This set up the atmosphere for the rest of the evening. I slowly began to be drawn into the event of who would win and who would lose. It did not take long for me to choose whom I wanted to win. However, many of the wrestlers were in character which sparked up the tension in the audience.
Wrestlers spend a large number of hours practising their moves. This is essential because many of the moves could break a competitors neck. With each match, competitors spur on the crowd creating a very energetic environment.
Each move needs to rehearsed to ensure a safe match.
I have never really thought I would like wrestling. I have always known it was act and that the results were predetermined. However, when I watched these wrestlers in action, I soon realised how many hours they must invest in this sport to ensure that they compete to precision. For that I truly admire them.
A move that could be quite fatal but handled with precision.
Another aspect I witnessed was how the wrestlers involved themselves in the community. They knew they had fans, and many of these fans were kids. I was very impressed to see wrestlers sign posters and photos with encouragement to stay in school. That is a part of the sport that the general public never see.
Overall, wrestling is a sport for everyone. There is a little aggression for the guys with combat style performance. And, there is a little "eye candy" for the girls as guys parade around the ring in tight pants and no shirts. And believe me ladies, these guys are worth the watch because they work out frequently!
Wrestling - where men can enjoyed staged combat and women can enjoy a little 'eye candy'.
The question arises as to whether I would go back to watch another wrestling match? The answer to that is pretty simple. Yes I would! I am not sure if I would take sides or choose favourites. However I would definitely enjoy the view, together with the act!
Great article. I saw a wrestling demo at the markets recently. I t was very entertaining and the kids *loved* it. For $2 you could have a photo taken with one of the wrestlers too :) Recommended for a family night out.
