Let the kids get into space!

Space is all around us and it's full of mystery. Children will find it very exciting and be curious about what might be out there. And a lot of adults will feel the same way. When kids get interested in something, they often ignite a passion in them that allows them to form a career around the whole thing. If you think your children will have a passing interest or even a passion for space, then the perfect place to learn more about it is at the Perth Observatory. Take them to a Kids Workshop on a Sunday and they will really love everything they learn at these workshops that are designed specifically for kids.

Children are going to get excited at these Space Art Workshops, where kids get to look at the universe, learn all sorts of things and also create their idea of what space will be like. Thanks to Supernova Studios and the astronomy guide, Park Liu, your children can create and learn all in one day. there will be facts about the universe, and all sorts of wonderful things to see throughout the Observatory. There will even be things that the parents are going to learn. Discover the universe together.

While you and your children are exploring space, you will be able to choose between two different types of art. You could make a Fluid Art Astronaut. This is where you get an astronaut figure and you and your children mix the colours you want and pour it over, creating a marbled effect. And it will be unique to your design, no one else will make something the same!

The alternative is making a beautiful 3D Hand Painted Moon Lamp. The lamp comes pre-prepared and you get to paint it however you want. The more paint you use, the more the moon will look different. The paint can be applied in all sorts of different ways and it will, of course, be unique. Everything you make on the day will be taken home with your children and you can display proudly in your home. When you have guests, you can impress them with your art and with your space knowledge.

If you and your children enjoy discovering space and creating beautiful space-themed art, then you will want to head to the Perth Observatory in Bickley. Ticket prices start at $99 per child, but this includes everything you need for the art and the tour of the Observatory.

These are run fairly regularly in small numbers. The next workshop will be on Sunday, the `13th of October, but they run on a lot of different Sundays throughout the year. Check the website for more options. Start times also vary. Take your kids to the Observatory for one day and they will one day, want to be in space!
