Calling all vegetarians, vegans and those who love new food adventures - Dao Ji is back after five months!

This fair is the ultimate in street foods and caters to allergies and all types of eating habits. It is amazing what can be done with food while not using any meat, and this is your chance to try some of this amazing food for yourself.

This is a biennial event and is on again in October 2017. It is one of the most popular vegan and vegetarian events in Perth and this will be the last one for this year.

There will be heaps of different food to be bought, and some of these include:
  • papaya salad
  • noodle soup
  • crepes
  • spring rolls
  • cakes
  • Nasi Lemak
  • mock fish cakes
  • donuts

  • satay
  • pad Thai

  • samosa

  • and of course, much more

  • Of the food served here, about 90% of the food is vegan and there will be a very limited supply of gluten-free products which will be clearly labelled for those of you who cannot eat wheat and related products.

For those who are new to this event, come early as some of the food gets snapped up very quickly. Entry into the event is free, so you only need to pay for the food you purchase, and this is very reasonably priced from $2 to $10.

Transactions are made with coupons which can be purchased at the coupon table right at the hall entrance. This event is organised by the Dao Ji Association, a not for profit organisation.

    [b]ABOUT VEGANS**
Many people I know are dead set against the vegan health regime!

Studies have now shown that it is absolutely clear that we do not need animal products to have a healthy diet. We know this due to the growing number of vegans from all "walks of life" who are getting all of their required nutrients without animal products.

This is also now gradually being recognised by mainstream health organisations some of which advise that appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthy, nutritionally adequate, and quite appropriate for people during all stages of the life, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, and adolescence.

The health benefits of cutting out animal products from your diet may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases.

This information is from studies done both in America and in China. For example, cholesterol is only found in animal products and our body produces all of the cholesterol that we will ever need, so we don't need to consume any further cholesterol in our diet.
