Come and enjoy a day of shopping, live entertainment, delicious food and fun family activities on Sunday 24th September, 2017, 9:30am to 3:30pm at the historic Heathcote Cultural Precinct in Applecross. Entry is FREE.
Recently named by The Weekly Review as one of the 'Top 17 Makers Markets in Australia' (and the only one named from Perth), Perth Makers Market brings together the premier talent of the handmade community in a stunning heritage location.
Founded in 2016, Perth Makers Market aims to provide a platform for Perth's talented, high-quality crafters in a family-friendly location. All wares available at Perth Makers Market have been handcrafted in Western Australia, from design to production, so visitors and shoppers can be sure they're supporting local industries.
Stalls are also available to students and emerging artists at a significant discount, in order to support young and up-and-coming makers who are trying to establish themselves early in their careers.
The upcoming spring event will showcase the wares of over 180 of Perth's most talented artisans, including passionate woodworking artists, creative fashion and accessory designers, talented painters and more.
This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase a special gift for a loved one or one of a kind wares for your home or office. Come and browse and buy woodwork, glassware, toys, clothing, terrariums, art, sculptures and many more beautiful items, which may not be available elsewhere.
After meeting the friendly stallholders and perusing their wares, the kids can have fun at the petting zoo (the pirate ship playground is not accessible during the market due to ongoing refurbishment). There's also a great selection of interactive kids activities on offer, including the always popular face painting, sand card art, henna tattoos and giant garden games.
You can bring your own gourmet picnic basket along, but you'll also find an amazing range of food stalls serving up delicious sweet and savoury treats. As you tuck into your snack or lunch, there will be great live music to enjoy as well. If you're after a more refined dining experience, head to Blue Water Grill for breakfast or lunch.
You can conclude your visit by exploring the on-site Museum and Gallery or enjoying the Artist Studios Open Day, where you can meet talented local artists and browse and purchase their works.
