The Lunar New Year is a significant cultural celebration for many Asian communities, including the Chinese, Vietnamese, Koreans and Tibetans. The celebrations are all about renewal, chasing away bad luck, and of course, ushering in the new year with as much good luck as possible.
February 5th this 2019 ushers in the Year of the Pig in the Chinese lunar calendar, and there are multiple celebrations popping up across Perth. It doesn't matter if you're not from those communities - celebrating the new year (again) is for everyone.
