If you have not attended a Glendi Festival, now you can
The Perth Glendi is a Greek Festival organised by the Greek community of Perth. It is a fun-filled day of Hellenic culture. During the day, you can hear and see music, dance and enjoy great food, including cooking demonstrations and market stalls, and a children's fun fair.
This year, it will take place at Elizabeth Quay on 21st to 22nd April, 2018 in a fantastic new location. The word "Glendi" actually means "party" in Greek.
The Monastery will have a stall offering fresh juices, the Monastery's cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, Greek sweets and much more. Save the date and bring your family and friends to enjoy this spectacular event.
There will also be a selection of Greek desserts which will be available for purchase throughout the event such as the popular loukoumades, which are freshly made Greek donuts with a light syrup, baklava and much more.
Dance LiveLighter Zorba Dance will be the world's largest LiveLighter Zorba Dance, and this will be one of the day's highlights. With just under 2000 people joining Perth's largest Greek Dance in 2016, it is hoped that this record will be beaten this year at Elizabeth Quay!
There will also be some brief dancing lessons available during the day, and the dancing will include the traditional plate smashing!
Perth Glendi 2018 Zorba Dance will support a local charity by donating all the registration fees collected. To this end, there will be a $2 per person donation collected as a fee to join the dance, and this will be donated to a selected charity, the name of which is yet to be advised.
