The Perth Folk and Roots Club was incorporated on 12 June 2014 and will be focused on running the Perth Folk and Roots Club and establishing other events to support performances by folk and roots artists. To celebrate we are bringing to you the line-up for Sunday 24 August 2014 with the support of City of Stirling and the Mount Lawley Bowling Club.
The performances are from 5pm to 8pm with Freewheeling and Lauren Arthur supported by Keith Anthonisz with special guest Steve Warner Jones on harmonica.
Freewheeling plays roots music and mainly country, bluegrass and folk, although a little jazz, blues, rock and pop is also present. Featured are Matt Stafford on vocals and guitar, John Horsfall on vocals and mandolin, Chris Roberts-Rivett on bass and Graham Burwood on guitar and harmonica with all hailing from England originally except John who is the only Australian. The band have been supporters of Perth Folk and Roots Club, have played a few songs between sets and are now playing a set for the Club.
