Back performing at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club is the Perth Folk and Roots Club. Supported by the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club and City of Stirling, the club is presenting a great line-up - so, get in the groove and come down for some great talent and entertainment on Sunday 25th February 2018.
Performances are starting from 5pm and include the sounds of Dilip Parekh in a duet and Fiona Heath. Come hear a little bit of reggae, folk and contemporary folk. Also performing on the night are John McNair and Keith Anthonisz.
Dilip Parekh is a singer/songwriter from Fremantle and is known more as the frontman of high energy band - Dilip n the Davs. They have had six records since their formation back in 2008, and are a favourite in the Fremantle music scene, playing their great sounds of reggae/ska/funk/grooves. They are becoming recognised nationally and internationally with their latest album titled "Together", featuring guests Nicky Bomba and House of Shem's Teo Perkins.
Dilip also has his solo album out - 'Better Out Than In'. This really shows his contemporary eclectic folk material along with his more reflective songs, which also include his own musical interpretations from the poems by WB Yeats and Herbert Hoover, as well as his own.
Fiona Heath has been a crowd favourite at Perth Folk and Roots Club shows in the past. Having played with the Perth group, The Dreamers, she has also performed in Europe. You may have seen her perform around Perth in venues such as the Pickers and Slidders at the Flying Scotsman, the Perth Blues Club, the Boulevard Tavern in Joondalup and the Gas Light Club and Gypsy Tapas in Fremantle.
The Perth Folk and Roots Club is always on the lookout for up and coming artists to do a few numbers for the audience, so come along and enjoy the music and if you are an artist, please introduce yourself Keith Anthonisz the President of the Perth Folk and Roots Club.
