Event:
Hear the sounds of Steve Tallis and Smith and Matthews Duet
Let's get 2018 going with some great music performances hosted by the Perth Folk and Roots Club at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club. This all will kick off on Sunday 28th January 2018, music starting at 5pm and music flows through till 8pm - this should be a great evening.

The line-up for the evening are from Western Australia's self-proclaimed Blues man, Steve Tallis and followed by the great sounds of The Smith and Matthews Duet, Steve Smith from the Suntones and Jon Mathews of Conscious Dreamers.

Steve Tallis has been performing and recording in the music industry from way back in the 1960's and has become a major figure in the Perth Blues Scene. His talent of mixing traditional Folk with Blues and adding a touch of Gospel and a magical hint of voodoo themes makes him a true original in his field. Having travelled extensively internationally and nationally and has also been living and performing in Paris. Until recently, Steve has also lived and performed in the USA, Europe, Mexico and Asia supporting some of the biggest names in music.

Steve was also awarded an Arts WA Contemporary Music Fellowship in 2003 for him to study, compose and tour with master musicians in Africa, India and Greece. He has successfully produced several of his own albums and over the years found African, Indian, Haitian and Islamic music have all had a spiritual and rhythmic influence in his work.

Steve Smith of the Suntones joins up with Jon Matthews of Conscious Dreamers to bring you The Smith and Matthews Duet.

Steve Smith aka 'Hayseed' is known as the Carl Perkins aficionado of the Suntones. The Suntone's first album was recorded back in 2011, titled 'In the Valley', which contains songs penned by the band member Steve Smith himself and Jeff Barham. Having a successful tour back in 2012 with the Tamworth Country Music Festival where audiences were very much impressed audiences with their catchy originals and quirky covers.

Jon Matthews is a part of the 'Conscious Dreamers' duet who is with Gary Benness. Their musical sounds are very much folk, Americana & roots aficionados. This Duo are relative newcomers with making their make on the music scene performing extensively in a series of shows, not only locally but also through the Southwest and now they have launched their Self-Titled EP.
