As we head into Christmas, the number of school and community fetes and festivals reaches fever-pitch. It's fatal to assume that you can make it to all of them before the end of the year without being organised (pun intended) so here is my guide to the best of the fetes and fairs for the rest of 2014.



[SECTION]OCTOBER[/SECTION]
There are only a few days left of October, but some of the biggest events of the year will feature this weekend.



Wembley Downs District FairBringing together multiple school and community groups, the District Fair provides a full day of shopping, food and fun.

There are rides and entertainment for the kids including a petting zoo and a Ferris wheel, plenty of stalls selling craft, produce and pre-loved goodies and a food and wine section as well.Where: Luita Street Reserve, Wembley DownsWhen: Saturday 25th October, 8.30am-3.00pmCost: Free entry Click for website.

Kwinana FestivalJoin in the fun for an afternoon of rides, markets and entertainment and then be dazzled by the CSBP Sky Show and fireworks. Plenty of music and fashion as well as free children's rides.

South African BazaarImmerse yourself in the sights and smells of traditional South African cooking and craft with this fun family event. Try biltong and boerewors sausage or perhaps traditional South African pancakes, or shop for Christmas at the market stalls.

Subiaco Craft FairOne of the most loved of all the craft fairs, the Subiaco Craft Fair showcases predominantly Western Australian producers of clothing, jewellery, produce, gourmet foods, toys, crafts and other goodies. With entertainment throughout the day, food for sale and a kids corner, it's a good place to start your Christmas shopping.

[SECTION]NOVEMBER[/SECTION]There is plenty to choose from this month and no matter where you live, you will find a fete near you.



Baldivis Country FairEntertaining thousands of people for almost forty years, the Baldivis fair promises market stalls, rides and games, fresh produce, food and liquor, competitions plus live entertainment and music and plenty of activities for the whole family.Where: old Baldivis School, corner Fifty Rd and Baldivis RdWhen: Sunday 1st November, 10am-4.30pmCost: Free entry Click for website. Etsy Christmas Pop-UpMeet your favourite Etsy crafters in person with over 40 stalls selling fantastic handmade goodies in time for Christmas.

There will also be workshops, goody bags, live music (a bar!) and door prizes.

Wembley FeteAt this huge fete held only once every four years, you will find side show alley with rides and activities, a wealth of stalls selling everything from Christmas craft to second-hand DVDs, a feast of food stalls plus all the fun and games you come to expect from a huge school fete.

Canningvale Primary School Fete
With over thirty stalls including food, craft, second hand books and more you will have plenty to buy as well as enjoying show rides and a bouncy castle, plus there are free activities and competitions and plenty of food stalls including a sausage sizzle and Devonshire tea.

Hillcrest Primary School Fete
A huge fete with all the expected rides, stall and entertainment plus temporary tattoos, laser tag, monster balls, bouncy castle, hole-in-one and an international food market.

Beechboro Family Fun Day
Join the local community as East Beechboro hosts its first ever Fun Day. There will be carnival rides and amusements, a dunk tank and inflatable water slide, face painting, snow truck plus all day entertainment food and drink stalls, market stalls and much more.

Where: East Beechboro Primary School, Maguire Ave, Beechboro

Little Tackers Family Market
One of the biggest second-hand markets for gently used baby and children's clothing, toys and furniture. For a gold coin, you can leave the kids in the child's corner where they will be watched and entertained while you shop in undercover peace. Sausage sizzle and drinks on the day.

Made on the Left Perth City Christmas Markets
For unique, handmade gifts and produce, these markets will showcase Australian products at over forty stalls amongst the wonderland of colours that is the City of Perth's Festival of Christmas.

Golden West Collectors Fair
With all proceeds supporting Retina Australia WA, this vintage collectors fair will be selling a huge rage of antiques and collectables such as clocks, clothing, jewellery, china , glass and books as well as a range of handmade crafts.

Rockingham Community Fair
A huge community event with everything imaginable including rides and games, market stalls, a petting zoo, circus workshops, pony rides, raffles, side show alley, climbing wall, bouncy castle and more.

Belmont Festival Finale
The big finish to a month of events in Belmont, the finale will include performances by the Ricochet Circus, a Kylie Minogue tribute act, dancers and performers as well as an international food festival, carnival rides and a fireworks spectacular.

Scarborough Twilight Market
This community event will host a number of local art and crafts, plus a range of market stalls and gourmet food stalls. As this is an evening event there will also be a bar and live music, as well as a kids corner.

Christmas Carnival
Bring the kids to enjoy a free Christmas carnival with fabulous festive fun including face painting, a petting zoo, Christmas entertainers, a bouncy castle, mini golf and a visit from the big red guy himself.

Perth Upmarket
A fabulous event that showcases many local designers, artisans, gourmets and businesses all with unique and handmade goods and goodies. One of the premier market events with over 150 stalls and just in time for Christmas.

There's not long until Christmas but you will find a few markets and fetes left if you need to do some last minute Christmas shopping.



artMarket@ DeanmoreThe art Market will showcase locally sourced, artisan market stalls with a focus on sustainability, recycling and organics. It will also be great fun with crafts, music and games food for the whole family.

There will be a professional art show as well as a kids' art competition. Gourmet food and drink will be on sale.

Browse for Christmas presents at the distinctive Roleystone markets with a variety of stalls and producers including arts, crafts, provisions and produce.
