Sunday 1 August 2021 from 10am to 4pm AWST at
Edith Cowan University (ECU), Mount Lawley Campus, 2 Bradford Street, Mount Lawley. Be sure to
REGISTER to secure your spot.
This creator-focused event is all about making comics accessible for all ages.
ECU in Mount Lawley will be taken over with a bustling
Market Hall where local comic makers will be sharing their latest and greatest creations. Get hands-on and learn some new comics making skills of your own. Some of Australia's most exciting creators will be revealing their inspirations, techniques and experiences, so be sure to listen in.
The Perth Comic Arts Festival organising committee is so grateful for all of your patience as they've adapted to pandemic restrictions. You can still expect a vibrant market hall, art exhibition, free workshops, and talks to fill your day. They have been working hard to confirm the
new date and times with participants and
will release a revised program by the end of this month so stay in close touch for updates via their

Message in a Bottle Comics/Ceramics Exhibition is now open, so drop by for a visit! A belated opening event is now scheduled for
Thursday, 29 July. The
Comic Arts Awards of Australia Ceremony is now scheduled to be held
ONLINE ONLY via streaming on
Friday 30 July. Keep an eye on their socials for information on how to tune in.

All you need to do is grab a pencil, roll up your sleeves and sign yourselves up for a good time. Don't delay to register as there are only 20 tickets available online for pre-registrations and 20 tickets available for registration on the day at the PCAF info table.

Comics Fundamentals .
Join Andrei Buters, creator of the fantasy adventure series 'Dead By 30' in
Fashion in Comic Character Design if you want to learn about what the clothes your character wears says about them. Are they in customised armour, rocking hobo chic or haute couture? Learn to combine fashion illustration and character design in your comics. Learn how first impressions count and how a character's style can leave a big splash in your comics.

#347 ;ka is an energetic visual storyteller, creator and a science communicator, with more than 10 years of experience in children's illustration, graphic design, comics, animation and children's science education.
Journaling with Comics acknowledges that people journal for all sorts of reasons. Maybe for you it helps you keep track of things, or you like to vent somewhere, or it helps you process? Comics are a powerful journaling method that can be worked into your routine whether you just want to scribble them on sticky notes during your lunch break, or you prefer to keep a designated sketchbook to experiment with different tools and techniques. Sarah will share a few of her favourite styles of comic journal entries and guide you through creating your own! All drawing skill levels welcome.
Don't be afraid of no ghosts; and you don't need to call Ghostbusters for
Ghost Club . There's nothing (disappointingly? for some) very frightening at all. Join comics-maker and sculptor Jessica McLeod as she introduces you to her spooky/cute world of creativity.You'll start in the
Message in a Bottle exhibition at Spectrum Gallery as Jessica shows you some of her beautiful work, then head over to the
Big Comics Spiegeltent where you'll design and sculpt our own little ghosts.
