Laughter is the best medicine in Perth
They say that laughter is the best medicine and some people have the knack of making even the most humourless person crack a smile. From the 24th of April to the 17th of May 2015, The Perth Comedy Festival 2015 has an amazing line-up of comedians ready to make you laugh until your sides ache.
Acts include Tony Woods from USA who has performed on Good News Week and The Footy Show, three time Helpmann Award nominee Tom Gleeson, former triple J breakfast guy and host of ABC's Reality Check Tom Ballard, Nominee for 2014 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Best Newcomer Tien Tran and a Star Wars burlesque parody with sexy stormtroopers to name a few.
The show kicks off with the lavish Gala event for Perth's biggest night in comedy which brings together some of the biggest international stars and hot emerging talents so you can sample a few different comedians before deciding on which one to watch during the rest of the festival. The Gala event will be shown on Wed 29th April and Tuesday 5th of May at the Regal Theatre from 7.30pm. Be quick as the first show has sold out.
If you miss the gala and would still like to watch a few acts squeezed into a fantastic night, there is a Perth Comedy Festival Showcase with an awesome line-up from some of the comedians from the festival. Held at the Octagon Theatre on Monday the 11th of May at 7.30pm, this will truly be one hilarious night. Show lasts for 120 mins and tickets cost between $25-$35.
There is also the Biggest Comedy Show on Earth with ten comics for people with a shorter attention span and would like a large sample of laughs. Held at the Mt Lawley Bowling Club between Thursday 30th April to Saturday 16th May 2015 for 1 hour, get your tickets from between $15-$25.
