Learn Something New This Autumn
Situated just minutes away from Perth's CBD, close to Claisebrook Station, Perth's City Farm is a unique project which aims to educate the public about organic gardening, sustainable living, health and well-being. Established on the site of an old scrap metal yard and battery recycling plant, City Farm was founded in 1994 as an initiative of the Planetary Action Network, the youth branch of Men of the Trees. Over the two decades of its existence, a miracle has occurred and what was formerly a barren wasteland has now been transformed into a lush, verdant oasis amidst the surrounding urban landscape. These days City Farm is a dynamic community space which incorporates community gardens, art studios, weekly markets, a cafe and much more.

If all this was not enough, City Farm also holds regular courses and workshops to educate the wider community about topics relating to its ethos of environmental sustainability. These include subjects such as organic gardening, traditional art forms, creating an environmentally friendly home and healthy cooking. Children's courses are also held regularly during school holidays.

This Autumn, City Farm is holding a few exciting courses for adults, focusing on three very different topics. Following is some information about each. To find out more, contact City Farm on 9325 7229, email them at admin@perthcityfarm.org.au or check out their website.
