Orienteering NSW and Sydney Olympic Park Authority have joined together to offer a free orienteering program at Bicentennial Park. This permanent activity is available all year round and open to people of all ages and skills.
It's your choice to use a traditional paper map or download the free MapRun App onto your smartphone. Bringing technology into the outdoors, this app allows you to follow the course, as well as track your progress. Keep fit, enjoy the outdoors and even join groups if you wish, this new activity is for everyone's benefit.
Orienteering courses for everyone at Bicentennial Park
Orienteering sports will hone your navigational skills, and there is a choice of ten courses at Bicentennial Park; two are wheelchair-friendly and range from 1km to 5.3km. Beginners are welcome and experienced orienteers will be challenged with the longer courses.

Courses start at the Waterview Cafe and you choose a course, either challenge yourself or take it easy, it's up to you.

"Orienteers come in all shapes, sizes and ages; and generally have a great respect for and love of the environment and the outdoors. This permanent course at Sydney Olympic Park will help to showcase our sport to a huge urban population," said Orienteering NSW President, Greg Barbour.
Sydney Olympic Park Authority Chief Executive Officer, Charles Moore added, "This is a terrific example of how we can use technology to get people out and about and leading active lifestyles. It's an exciting addition to the many free activities families can take advantage of every day at Olympic Park."
Ten courses for all types of abilities, two wheelchair friendly courses and the choice of using technology whilst keeping fit. Navigating the courses will keep your mind fit too.
