Perk’s Cafe

Perk's Cafe in Jimboomba have carved themselves a groovy little corner in a location you would not expect. Right next door to Wooloworth's Jimboomba, and a plethora of other variety shops, sits the cute, and sort of trendy, Perk's Cafe.

We stumbled on this place quite by accident as we had a doctor's appointment in the same complex that we were early for.

I strolled past with my 18-month-old and browsed the menu which to my surprise had tons of Gluten Free options!

Of course, I had to try them out. We ordered their Gluten Free Pesto Bruschetta which was loaded with fresh ingredients and delicious. They even made sure to inform us that the GF bread sizes were smaller, so if we were super hungry we might want to order more, of course, we did. I think it cost $3 extra.

The bruschetta was a starter you would expect to get at a much more expensive place, I was impressed with how much actual topping they put on the bread. I have found most remote country town cafe's that offer bruschetta are not worth the risk as they usually consist of a couple of chunks of tomato with balsamic vinegar and olive oil lazily drizzled over the top. But not at Perk's!

As far as the decor, it was pretty trendy, with fake brick lining the back wall and rod iron used to accent. They even had a kids station where your kids can colour and draw while you dine or enjoy a cappucino.

The indoor seats were very well layed out, mostly diner style booth seating. Outside the tables wrap around the side of the building, offering more private seating, which I really like with kids, since they always tend to bother all their neighbours. The area was substantial and even though it was looking out over a parking lot the quaintness of Jimboomba makes it a pleasant and upbeat space to sip a coffee.

Speaking of coffee, I did not try theirs since I had just had one in the car, but from what I could see of others drinks, they looked professional and delicious. I will definitely be going back to try out a cup next time I'm in Jimboomba.

I would love to try this place for breakfast as well. I highly recommend Perk's Cafe in Jimboomba for a coffee catch up or quick bite to eat, or maybe a stop off on a country drive.
