I've recently moved to Wollongong and have been exploring the local outdoors in this new location.

Perkins Beach in southern suburbs of Wollongong is the perfect location for a long walk beach walk with your doggy companions.

Drive to the end of Boundary Road at Windang, park in the carpark along the road, then walk along a track through the bushy sand dunes to the beach. Dogs are allowed off leash at all times from this track north along the beach to the south end of Port Kembla Beach (approximately 4km).

The beach is usually quiet and is great for beachcombing. Beware the water can be dangerous for swimming, it is not patrolled and can have dangerous rips.

Turn you beach walk into a circuit by heading inland on another bush track, there are quite a few as you head north along the beach, and circle back to the car along the inland track. Google maps on your phone can be useful to locate a track off the beach.
