Free Gym Workout With Every Visit
Peregian Breeze has almost 400 new home sites plus 5 ha of open parkland and future wetland areas complementing the estate. Located opposite the intersection of California Boulevard and Kokomo St, Peregian Beach, is the estate's central park complete with kids' playground and five fitness stations - all bound by national park. My family and I have been to this park a couple of times and the kids always have a good time.
What's different about this playground? Well, it's big on climbing. There are two types of monkey bars and a tall cylindrical rope structure next to a long slide. Instead of a vertical spinner, there is a strange diagonal rope spinner. To make it work you have to hold onto two vertical ropes and use your body's weight and momentum to spin. To control it you have to straighten your arms on the downswing and then bend your arms coming back up. It is suitable for older kids and adults but younger kids will struggle to do more than one rotation.
What's the worst thing about this park? There are no swings and not much shade either. One tiny triangular shade sail sits above the spinner. There are no toilet, barbecue or picnic areas yet. There is no designated parking area. Perhaps this will change in the future. I know they are planning some cycle paths and other things so stay tuned.

What's the best thing about this park? The kids love the playground, but for me, the best things are the gym stations located a short walk away from the playground. Four of the gym stations focus on upper body strength and the fifth one does leg strength. It's a great way of getting a free workout and more gym stations in the future will help expand this gym circuit. Looks like the best is yet to come.
