Take a look around Peregian Markets for a quiet wander
The Peregian Markets reminds me of the Eumundi Markets when they first began. For those of you who are as 'old/young' as I, you will recall wandering around on grass sifting through makeshift stalls.

Life has changed somewhat, but in Peregian, it's like walking back in time.....
Peregian Markets
Still has a 'home grown' feel to it.

Many of the stalls sell home made goods as opposed to imported cheaper items and this is what makes shopping at a market 'different, unique and special.'

House Martin
Home made groovy gifts.

The effervescent Cassy Martin works all week from her home busily creating all kinds of knick knacks to sell. I really liked the many colours she used, in particular the pale blues and pinks which create a homey, eclectic feel.

Broadcraft Design emerged when this talented couple, Natalia and Duncan made a lifestyle change from Melbourne and moved to Kin Kin. What amazing works of art they create and weld together! I was quite taken with these unusual designs and imagined they would make fantastic features in someone's tropical garden. Broadcraft Design have quite the creative flair if you are looking for that upmarket piece.

The next stall that caught my eye was 'Rare Bags'. They travel around a fair bit, having just returned from the Byron Bay Blues Festival. It's great to see a company that supports conservation projects around the world and recycles fabric, bags and patches.
Buy a recycled bag?
Funky & thoughtful designer bags

I love these bags with potent messages emblazoned on them.
Home Made Funky Bags!
I love these - bags with a saying!

This is one stall on my 'to go and buy' list. Anyone trying to make a difference on this planet deserves respect and support I reckon.

The Peregian Markets are on the first and third Sunday each month and are well worth a visit if a leisurely stroll through the market (beside the beach) is what you had in mind. Grab a coffee, smell the sea salty air and wander, wander, wander.
