Percy Cherry Park is a beautiful and modern recreation area located on Creekside Drive, in the growing suburb of Curlewis on the Bellarine Peninsula.

Named after Captain Percy Cherry , the park incorporates a playground, barbecue area, large grass area and walking track, and is perfect for people of all ages.

The playground is modern and well-maintained, and has play equipment suitable for both younger and older children. Equipment includes:

  • Spiderweb Climbing Structure
  • Swingset with toddler swing and standard swing
  • Round 'basket' swing
  • Roundabout
  • Seesaw
  • Rodeo Board

  • The landscaping in the park is lovely, with native plants and grasses surrounding the play areas, however sections of the gardens are quite dense, so you may need to keep an eye out for snakes in the warmer months (I didn't see any, but there were signs warning that snakes may be active in the area).

In between the playground and the creek, there's an undercover barbecue area with two new, clean electric barbecues and picnic tables.

Adjacent to the playground, there's a large grass area that is suitable for kicking a ball or relaxing on a picnic blanket with a book.

There are also several sealed walking tracks throughout the park, which are popular with joggers.

Overall, it's a nice, quiet park that provides a good place for a barbecue or to let the kids have a play.

    **Facilities:
    **
    Rubbish bins: Yes

    Seating: Yes

    Parking: Free street parking available.

Bike Parking Rack: Yes, at the front of the park

Shade/Shelter: The BBQ area is situated under a shelter.
The playground is open, however there is a small amount of shade/shelter provided in one of the seated areas.

Toilets: I didn't notice any toilets at the park - the nearest ones are probably at Curlewis Shopping Centre (about 500m west along Creekside Drive).

There are also toilets located at Jetty Road Reserve (a 2 minute drive or 16 minute walk down Jetty Road, in the direction of the water)

Fencing: There are some sections of fencing around the play equipment and alongside the creek, however the fencing is limited and doesn't provide an enclosed space for children and/or prevent children from reaching the nearby road or creek.
