Peppercorn pizza is the self-professed home of Chicago pan style pizza and they certainly don't disappoint.



This Eastern suburbs icon on Blackburn road trades 7 days a week from 5pm to 10pm literally pumping out delicious pizza from its take away outlet.

Chicago pan style pizza is similar to the famous deep-sided pan typical of deep-dish pizzas. However Chicago pan style pizza comes with a thicker crust, which can be likened to that of focaccia and has the depth of a regular pizza. The toppings including cheese are also placed on top of the pan pizza rather then under the sauce like that of the traditional deep dish or stuffed pizza.

Peppercorn Pizza has a large variety of pizza toppings. Each pizza can be ordered in three distinct sizes small ($8.90), large ($12.90) and family ($17.90).



The usual pizza favourites appear as well as a few new combinations worth trying these include Hawaiian supreme (Ham, pineapple, beef, onion and BBQ sauce), Margherita, Aussie (Ham, onion, eggs and bacon), Mexicana (Ham, hot salami, capsicum, and onion), Bacon classic (Hot salami, mushroom and bacon), Chicken delight (Chicken, pineapple, mushroom and onion), Satay chicken (Chicken, capsicum, onion and satay sauce) and Pepperoni lovers (Double hot salami and mozzarella cheese).

All pizzas come with a cheese and tomato base along with the described toppings.

A large variety of pastas are also on offer at Peppercorn including Spaghetti Bolognese, Spaghetti Indiana (Chicken, onions, capsicum, and creamy curry sauce), Fettuccini Delisioza (Chicken, mushroom, cream and parmesan), Fettuccini Carbonara, Penne Siciliana (Hot salami, bacon, onion, olive, chili and tomato sauce), Penne Casablanca (Moroccan spiced chicken, mushroom, avocado and cream), Gnocchi Florentina (Pinenuts, sun dried tomatoes, avocado, fresh basil, pesto and parmesan), Tortellini Al Capone (Meat balls, capsicum, onion, mushrooms and creamy Cajun sauce) and Lasagna.

Pastas are priced at $12.



Other menu items include a variety of schnitzel dishes starting at $14.90, Salads ($8.90) like the Garden salad (Gourmet lettuce, tomato, cucumber, Spanish onion and dressing), and Green salad (Feta, Kalamata olives, tomato, cucumber, Spanish onions and gourmet lettuce), and sides comprising garlic and cheese pizza (small $7.00, Large $10.00 and Family (14.00) and Garlic bread ($3.00).

A variety of 1.25L beverages are available ($3.50) and desserts like the chocolate mousse ($3.00) and Mixed Gelati in 500ml serves for $6.00 flavours include strawberry/lemon, chocolate, bacio and pistachio.

Deals are always on offer and consist of 2 large pizzas for $23.90, 2 family pizzas for $33.90, 1 large pizza and main pasta 23.90 and Garlic bread, 1.25l Pepsi, $5 with any large pizza or pasta purchased.

When ordering from Peppercorn my party of 5 ordered between us a family Chicken delight and a large margherita pizza to which we added olives.

Both pizzas were cooked well with tasty thick crust edges and thinner base. The toppings were very generous and dispersed evenly across the pizza and we noted that there was very little 'grease' making it pleasant to eat not having to wipe greasy fingers between bites.

Pizzas were ready on pick up after 15 minutes and still piping hot. The service was super friendly and very efficient.

A very reasonably priced treat with delicious pizzas and lots of toppings!
