And no, it's not Indian. It's in fact Japanese and is very popular with the students and workers here.

Yes, it involves pepper, but not too much of it. You can add as little or as much as you want.

Here, this is more like a fast food place, except better. You place your order at the front counter and pay. You are given a table number and then they will bring your order out.

You can pick your own place to sit.

All the meals include rice and cooking it yourself in a 200 degree special hotplate. You need not cook it for too long as everything starts to overcook. Five minutes is enough. Just be careful though, the food from the hotplate can be quite hot, so do take care.

They have vegetarian and non vegetarian meals for all the enjoy. I enjoyed the novelty of cooking it myself and mixing everything in.

I had the salmon don ($11) and added in a miso soup for $2.65. You can add extra stuff in for about $5 to go with your meal.
The salmon was cooked perfectly and the rice wasn't too peppery.

In short: don't mind the service but do come for the food - by the way, it is cash only.
