Pepper Lunch is a Japanese chain store that has been around for many years. It is a welcome addition to the Melbourne food scene.

Think steak, katsu curry, rice and other sizzling dishes. They have a self-serve section which is rather clever. They also deliver and you can also pre-order on the website.

The onion rings are delicious. My new discovery was the Chicken Katsu Curry with mushrooms, cheese, onion and egg. It came out on a sizzling dish (mind your fingers). The katsu sauce reminded me of my Japanese mum's. Totally delicious.

I have also had their sizzling Steak. Think sizzling hot plate, delicious vegetables and an epic sauce. I did forget to take photos of the food because the food was simply delicious. Here is a little snapshot of the dessert menu though, just in case you're hungry after mains!

It is always busy with customers. The food comes out promptly, quickly with a no-frills service.
