The licensed charity family event is conveniently located and can be directly accessed from the northern side of Penrith railway station. Please note that parking conditions have changed, so be sure to check out the details prior to the day.
From 8:00am to 5:00pm, 1 Museum Drive Penrith will be alive with what is guaranteed to be "Australia's Best Value Family Day."
Entry for adults is $30 per person. This also includes free entry to the show for up to 3 children under the age of 16, and entry to the Museum of Fire itself. The price of entry for additional children is $5 per head. Teens, if you're over the age of thirteen, remember to bring along your Student ID cards for identification and verification purposes.
Upon entry, all entertainment and amusement thrill rides are free of charge. The whole family is bound to enjoy these perks, with a jumping castle, trackless train, Super Slide, dodgem cars, Round Up, and much more on site.
I for one can't wait. The last time my husband and I went to the Truck Show I was noticeably pregnant and unable to ride any of these myself. This time, there are no two ways about it, and no matter how much my younger sisters protest for fear of embarrassment, I'll be there!
There are so many rides, you are sure to find one you like. The girls loved this one.
As with every year, the Museum of Fire will donate all proceeds to the education of Australian communities concerning fire safety, "saving our families from the dangers of fire" and "preserving the heritage of our communities' bravest."
A host of food stalls and drink and beer tents will cater to the fussiest of eaters. The barbeque stalls in particular were a hit with us, so be on the lookout for these.
On show will be over 250 of the best-presented trucks from around New South Wales. All showcased and competing for prestigious awards such as the 'Custom Super Truck', the trucks really are a sight to see. Many of the trucks are immaculately kept. It's certainly clear that the drivers and businesses participating in the show care a lot about their gear and the work they do.
One of my favourite things about the Show is the friendly atmosphere and the often interactive display of the trucks. Many of them are left unlocked for visitors to climb in, have a look around and truly appreciate the responsibility truck drivers are charged with when behind the wheel. Needless to say, this also makes for great photo opportunities.
Interactive displays make for great photo opportunities
For those of you looking to enter into the industry, the show is not without its business opportunities. Key players in the transport industry, including fleet owners, managers and owner-drivers, are keen to mix and answer any questions you may have.
A day wonderfully designed to cater for the whole family, with food, free fun and opportunities for professional development, the 27th Annual Penrith Working Truck Show is sure to be the "Best Value Family Day" it's been promised.
