This place is beautiful. My family went there for my birthday this year, and it perfect. We had high tea in the Peninsula Tea Gardens, which sits right next to historic Tranby House, and has a stunning view of the Swan river.

The service was amazing, as usual, and was served on a silver tea service, complete with finger sandwiches, scones and cream, and a selection of delicious little cakes (the best lemon tarts I've ever had!)

As far as the drinks selection goes - I think it's the best you'll find in Perth - and of course, the fact that you get to drink it out of proper cups and saucers makes it feel so much more authentic. I tried the Stockholm - vanilla, rose and orange flavoured tea. The smell was incredible - it made me want to dab it on as perfume.

The Tea Gardens have a really relaxed atmosphere, and evokes a sense of times passed - you feel like you need to sit up a little bit straighter, and practice your perfect manners (not that you shouldn't do that at all times.)

If you're a history buff, Tranby House is definitely worth a look. It is the site of one of the first farms established within the Perth colony, and is the earliest home that still stands within modern day Perth.

I definitely recommend this place - it really has no negatives, and is perfect for any special occasion.
