Arrive early and bring along your picnic rug to the 2012 Peninsula Short Film Festival. Endorsed by Russell Crowe, the Peninsula Short Film Festival is gaining a reputation around the country for providing a platform to launch filmmaking careers. The 12 finalists from around Australia and overseas will be in the running to win a $5000 first prize, $2500 for second, and $1250 for third.

Shortlisted films will be judged on the night by a panel of celebrity actors and industry professionals including Lachy Hulme (Offspring), Firass Dirani (House Husbands and Underbelly) and Jane Hall (Neighbours and Mix FM).

The Festival will kick off at 5pm with live music performances, including a set by rock legend James Reyne. Films will be screened from sunset onwards. There will also be a Q&A session with Adam Zwar and Amanda Brotchie (co-creators of Lowdown).

The Festival is free. Click here to find out more.
