Mornington Peninsula's biggest food, wine & music festival
The Peninsula Picnic is the most extensive food, wine and music festival ever presented on the Mornington Peninsula. It is being held at Mornington Racecourse on Sunday 29th March, 2015.

The event is touted as an opportunity to experience the best of the Mornington Peninsula's food and wine in one day and in one place, with performances by some of Australia's best musicians.

Renowned musical acts The Waifs, Paul Dempsey (of Something For Kate fame), Tinpan Orange, Pierce Brothers and Hayden Calnin will all be taking the stage.

Chefs from the region's most popular restaurants (and a few from further afield) will be dishing up tasting platters and main meals to purchase on the day. Meals will range from $8-$18. Restaurants and wineries represented include Terre, Montalto, European, DOC, Terminus at Flinders Hotel, Pope Joan, Max's at Red Hill Estate, The Long Table and Dee's Kitchen. Five of the best local wineries will be offering wine tastings to enjoy with your picnic. These will also be available for purchase to take home. Local favourites Montalto, Crittenden Estate, Circe, Prancing Horse and Merricks General Wine Store will all be available.

In addition, many local producers will be offering their wares to add to your picnic basket, or take home to enjoy later. Foodies will be well looked after, with Main Ridge Dairy, Cape Schanck Olive Oil & Peninsula Larder on hand. A boutique artisan craft market and picnic-style games such as bocce have also been included.

Gates open at midday and close at 7:30pm.

It is encouraged to take advantage of the amazing food available, however it is permitted to bring food in. There is no BYO alcohol allowed.

Tickets are available for purchase through Ticketek. Entry for Adults is $74, Children 5-17 years $12, Children under 5 years are free, MRC Members are $54. It is recommended to purchase tickets in advance as this event as tickets are limited.
