The Pelican is my come back all the time kind of place - mainly due for it's tasty tapas. The Pelican is located at 16 Fitzroy Street St Kilda.

I've said it before and I will say it again, I love tapas. The variety of small proportions allows you to taste a little bit of everything - which is so fulfilling.

A lunch date with my well behaved dog at the Pelican allows me to eat and drink in company - in other words not on my own. I love the indoor/outdoor feel, which allows dogs and smokers (me) to be apart of the place without being sent outside on the pavement to be tied up or butted out. Yes, the Pelican is dog and smoker friendly (all in regulation of courseā€¦for now).

The Pelican not only serve tapas, they also offer breakfast daily. My favourites and let me inform you, there are a few, include the Bulgarian Fetta Fritters with Aioli priced at $10.50 and the warm Beetroot Salad with Truffled Pecorino, Watercress and Walnuts priced at $13.50.

Another to mention and worth having is the Grilled Scallop with Carrot Ginger Puree priced at $4.50 each as well the Popcorn Chicken with Tarragon and Lemon Dipping Sauce priced at $12.50. This actually is decorated with a bit of popcorn and is a sure order for my 15 year old niece.

The menu is extensive in alcohol, another reason why I love the Pelican. From dessert wines, fortfields, sherries, digestifs and cocktails - such as the expresso martini priced at $16.50. I can't forget the great wine list, spirits, beer, champagne and sparkling.

I love, love, love this place. For breakfast lunch and dinner. It is in a great location too. Check it out sometime.
