Along Meningie's lakefront, you'll find an interpretive trail highlighting the environmental, Aboriginal and European history of the region. starts near the infamous ostrich statue (a whole story of its own!) and heads southward ending beside the town's memorial park. Its flat and easy pathway includes a couple of viewing platforms where you can sit, relax and enjoy the foreshore atmosphere.

More than a thousand native plants have been planted to help restore habitat for local wildlife. The trail also aims to improve the health of Lake Albert and, at the same time, increase the attractiveness of the waterfront. Do take the time to stop and read the interpretive signage which were written for the benefit of both locals and visitors alike.

Only 400 metres in length, the pathway is textured and suitable for bikes, prams, wheelchairs and gophers. Toilets can also be found nearby as well as picnic tables, BBQ facilities and a playground.
